Sir Ian was appointed chairman of The Edrington Group in 1994. The Group is Scotland’s leading independent premium spirits company and owns brands including The Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and The Macallan. He became a trustee of The Robertson Trust in 1978 and has been chairman since January 2000. The Trust controls The Edrington Group Limited and last year it gave £9.9m to a wide range of charities, principally in Scotland. Sir Ian also has a keen interest in horse racing and was appointed a director of TOTE plc in 2006. He was the driving force in the creation of Scottish Racing, of which he is currently chairman, and was appointed a steward of the Jockey Club in 2007. He is chairman of Hamilton Park racecourse. The evening will provide you with an excellent opportunity to meet members of other business owning families and discuss issues of mutual interest.
