20th July 2017
On 19th July the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Family Business met for its Inaugural Meeting.
The Group was established to connect family business owners and Members of both Houses and to raise awareness of the contribution and needs of UK family firms. The IFB provides the official secretariat support and sponsorship for the Group.
John Stevenson MP, re-elected Chair of the Group, said: "The APPG for Family Business provides a forum for discussion within Parliament and highlights the huge contribution family business makes to the UK.
In the coming months we will continue to host a series of cross-sector activities and events with the aim of ensuring constructive debate about the issues that matter most to family businesses".
Fiona Graham, IFB External Affairs and Policy Director, said: "The IFB is proud to support the Group and facilitate debate between family businesses and parliamentarians. The Group is an invaluable platform to discuss the priorities of the UK family business sector, tackle important issues to help family firms grow and explore how the Government can best support them in achieving long-term success".
