2016 Annual Reception
The Group's largest yearly gathering brought together family business owners of all regions and sectors and Parliamentarians to celebrate the amazing contribution of family businesses to the UK economy and society, and to discuss about family business opportunities and challenges in current times of change.
Established in 2011, the APPG for family Business promotes and facilitates communication between family businesses and members of both Houses.
John Stevenson MP, Chair of the Group, said: “The Annual Reception is the APPG for Family Business’ largest yearly gathering, where MPs and family business owners can get together to share important insights on the family business sector.
At the Reception Parliamentarians can learn more about the amazing work and ever growing contribution of family businesses to the UK economy – and family businesses can discuss relevant issues with key policy-makers.
At this year’s Reception we heard inspiring speeches and enjoyable discussions, shedding new light on some of the main challenges and opportunities that UK family firms are facing today.
The Group will continue to work on new and interesting activities to help form debate, reach even more people, and increase the awareness of the family business sector”.
IFB's Executive Director Elizabeth Bagger said: "We are delighted to be providing the official secretariat support for the APPG for Family Business. As the UK Family Business organisation, the IFB is always working hard to ensure the voice of family businesses is heard in Government and among policy-makers and the Group, through its Parliamentary gatherings and family business visits, is an invaluable platform to do just that".
