Upcoming Meeting and AGM 2021
APPG for Family Business Annual General Meeting
Beyond COVID – Supporting Future Family Business Growth
Wednesday 19th May, 10.00-11.00
On 19th May the APPG will kick off a series of meetings looking at the impact of COVID on the UK’s family businesses, exploring what life looks like post-pandemic and how we can support family businesses in driving our economic recovery.
Before the pandemic the UK’s 5 million family firms employed 14 million people. These businesses with their deep community roots and long-term approach to investment, have played a vital role in supporting their communities through the pandemic, and will continue to be key to supporting economic growth across the whole country. In this series of meetings, the Group will explore some of the unique challenges and opportunities they face, and how policy makers can support these businesses in achieving their ambitions for growth.
The Group will be joined by experts and family business owners to hear about the impact of the pandemic on family firms, the immediate priorities for supporting these businesses, and feedback on how reopening is progressing. We will then open up to a discussion with those attending the meeting, to hear as many perspectives as possible.
The Group will meet online on Wednesday 19th May, 10.00-11.00.
