IFB Responds to Budget 2016
17th March 2016
Responding to the Chancellor’s Budget announcement IFB Communications Director, Fiona Graham, said:
“What family businesses wanted to see was a Budget which supports their ambitions for growth, and provides the stability they need to develop successful businesses for the long-term.
“As incubators of entrepreneurial talent the measures announced to encourage growth, such as the cuts to CGT and the extension of Entrepreneurs’ Relief, are important for family businesses.
“Small businesses especially, the majority of which are family owned, will welcome the changes to business rates.
“With their long-term outlook and ambition to build something better to pass on to the next generation, family firms will recognise the importance of the Government publishing the Business Tax Roadmap to give them a greater understanding of how the UK business tax environment will develop.”
IFB is the voice of UK family business. Our members collectively employ around half a million people, and turnover £100bn annually.
