25th April 2016
Archant has been honoured with an award for their apprenticeship scheme from Cirencester College.
Wayne Morgan, Digital Director and Paul Upton, Subscriptions Manager, collected the award on Saturday 9th April on behalf of Archant for 'Best Employer Contribution to the College – Apprenticeships'.
Archant is a privately-owned media company with market-leading media brands that inspire communities around geographical locations and specialist interests in the UK and internationally. It inspires communities by being the best media brand at informing, educating and entertaining target consumers in each community it serves.
It is the fifth largest regional newspaper publisher and the largest publisher of regional and local lifestyle magazines and specialist magazine titles in the UK. It also owns a broad portfolio of digital media assets and marketing services including Mustard TV in Norwich and a variety of mobile apps. The company, which was founded in 1845, has its roots in Norwich, and services advertisers by building powerful and successful commercial solutions to effectively engage with its communities.
Archant has had apprentices working in Editorial, Marketing and Digital departments across the Group, many of whom have now grown into full time, key members of the business.
Last year Archant had a number of apprentices who successfully completed their programmes in association with Cirencester College who have now been hired into permanent roles with the company.
When asked upon which criteria Archant was selected for the award, Cirencester College responded that:
“We wanted to acknowledge Archant’s ongoing commitment to providing opportunities to apprentices, and to recognise the workplace support that takes place to help develop a local, talented and knowledgeable future workforce. This is across all areas of their workplace.”
Wayne Morgan, Digital Director said, “Working with apprentices is extremely rewarding. Archant is a wonderful place to learn and build real life experience, and our apprentices, at the end of their courses, become an integral and valuable part of our organisation.
“We need to recognise and thank our Human Resources team, without whom, none of this would have happened. Archant is blessed with a superb HR team.”
The college currently offers a number of apprenticeships in sectors including creative and digital media, business administration and customer services.
