IFB Wins Next Generation Award
28th October 2014
Last night at the Spear's Wealth Management Awards the Institute for Family Business saw off stiff competition from leading advisory firms to win the Spear's Next Generation Award, for the IFB Next Generation Leadership Programme.
The ceremony, held at The Savoy in London, brought together leading advisers, lawyers and wealth managers from across the UK.
Praising the IFB Next Generation Leadership Programme, the judges said it was an extensive and well-structured programme focusing on business & family leadership.
IFB Programme Director Elizabeth Bagger, who works with Juliette Johnson on the design of the programme, said:
"We are delighted to win this award. At the IFB we pride ourselves on providing first class, in depth, and expert led events and thought leadership. We work with family business owners and managers to provide a trusted environment in which they can share their stories and learn from each other.
"The IFB Next Generation group has over 400 members from family businesses across the globe. We work with them to provide advice and support to prepare them for their roles as future business owners and managers.
"The IFB Next Generation Leadership Programme is the only course of its kind in the UK. To have it recognised by Spear's is testament to the hard work of the participants, the IFB and Juliette Johnson."
Juliette Johnson said: "It's been fantastic working with the IFB to design and deliver such a powerful programme and I am delighted that Spears have made this award in recognition of all that the IFB do for their younger members.
"Being a next generation member within a family business can be a fantastic springboard but it can also be a lonely and isolated role. It's a great honour to have the opportunity to support the journey and aspirations of these young leaders, both on the business and the family side, through such a unique programme."
Dates for the 2015 Leadership Programme will be released soon.
This year's Leadership Programme is now drawing to a close, but you can find out more about what it involved here. IFB hosts over 40 events each year, check www.ifb.org.uk regularly for updates.
